Indonesia aims to become top exporter of downstream coconut goods
Jakarta, July 22 -- Indonesia is strengthening its coconut industry to boost the commodity's added value and competitiveness, aiming to become a leading exporter of downstream coconut products.
"We do not only aim to have net exports, but also strive to become the main exporter of coconut-based products and their derivatives, enabling us to generate the highest possible added value," National Development Planning Minister Rachmat Pambudy stated during a webinar on Wednesday.
He noted that in the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan, the coconut is designated as a national strategic commodity expected to bolster the country's industrial structure.
