Indonesia aims to attract high end tourist through Bali marina project
Denpasar, July 21 -- Indonesia aims to attract more high-spending international visitors to Bali by developing a marina at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub in Benoa Port, as cruise and yacht tourism expands globally.
Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono said the global cruise and yacht tourism market is growing about 7.5 percent annually.
"Domestic tourism continues to grow, but we also want international visitors, especially high-spending travelers seeking Bali's nature, culture and shopping," Yudhoyono said in Denpasar on Tuesday.
Attracting even a portion of these high-value visitors would generate significant economic benefits for the marina and Bali's broader economy, he said.
