Jakarta, June 14 -- Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Hanif Faisol Nurofiq has called for the accelerated implementation of Indonesia's national milk self-sufficiency roadmap to reduce reliance on imports and strengthen food security through animal-based protein sources.

He emphasized the importance of developing and executing the roadmap in an integrated manner, covering the entire dairy value chain from upstream production to downstream processing.

"We must work together to complete the milk production roadmap, from upstream to downstream," he said on Sunday.

Nurofiq noted that Indonesia still relies heavily on imported milk to meet domestic demand, making it essential to boost national production capacity.
