Indonesia, UNEP sign REDD+ implementation agreement
Jakarta, May 21 -- Indonesia's Forestry Ministry and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) signed an implementing arrangement on the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) project in Singapore on Wednesday.
In a statement on Thursday, head of the ministry's Public Relations and International Cooperation Bureau Ristianto Pribadi said the agreement followed a 2024 memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the environment and forestry sectors.
"We appreciate the close and constructive cooperation between both parties during the preparation of this implementing arrangement," he said. "This agreement reflects our shared commitment to strengthening REDD+ implementation."
