Jakarta, June 26 -- Indonesia and Switzerland signed a memorandum of understanding on mineral and metals downstream processing in Basel on Tuesday, strengthening industrial cooperation and supply-chain resilience while supporting Jakarta's downstream industrialization agenda.

Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland Ngurah Swajaya and Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs State Secretary Andrea Rauber Saxer initialed the agreement during Industry Day 2026.

In a statement issued by the Indonesian Embassy in Bern on Thursday, Ngurah said the agreement would elevate bilateral relations toward a more strategic partnership.
