Jakarta, Sept. 25 -- Indonesia's Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid met with a top Microsoft executive in New York on Wednesday (Sept 23) at local time to discuss the tech giant's continued investment strategy in Indonesia.

In 2024, Microsoft announced a commitment to invest about US$1.7 billion in Indonesia. Meutya emphasised the investment must deliver long-term benefits for the country's technological capacity.

"We hope Indonesia will not only serve as a key market for Microsoft, but also as a strategic hub for digital infrastructure and innovation in the region," Meutya said in a statement received here on Friday.
