Jakarta, July 4 -- Indonesia's Communication and Digital Ministry (Komdigi) and technology giant Meta have set up a team dedicated to combat online gambling-related content from spreading primarily through social media comments.

"We have agreed to set up a joint team to resolve online gambling promotion on social media platforms, especially to address the spam comments that have generated a significant number of public complaints," Minister Meutya Hafid stated on Tuesday.

She said the approach to eradicate online gambling-related spam comments may be expanded to other platforms besides Meta, which operates Instagram and Facebook.
