Indonesia, India advance QR payment, trade cooperation
Jakarta, July 7 -- President Prabowo Subianto welcomed expanded financial cooperation with India on Tuesday, highlighting faster talks on a cross-border QR payment system alongside broader trade, energy and technology partnerships.
Speaking alongside Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Merdeka Palace, Prabowo said discussions on the Cross-border QR Payment Linkage had made encouraging progress.
"The system is expected to improve transaction efficiency while strengthening the resilience of the financial sector," Prabowo said.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to deepen economic cooperation, which Prabowo described as a key pillar of Indonesia-India bilateral relations.
