Jakarta, Oct. 22 -- Indonesia has received Australia's pledge of full support in efforts to combat cybercrime, particularly online scams.

Australian Minister for Home Affairs Tony Burke made the commitment after attending the 12th Indonesia-Australia Ministerial Council Meeting on Law and Security in South Jakarta on Thursday.

Burke said Australia stood in solidarity with Indonesia and was committed to supporting efforts to crack down on online scam operations.

He stressed the urgency of tackling online scams, noting that people worldwide had fallen victim to this increasingly prevalent form of crime.
