Jakarta, July 30 -- The governments of Indonesia and Albania signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the placement and protection of migrant workers here on Thursday, with implementation expected by the end of 2026.

Albanian Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj expressed optimism that the partnership will be put into action through follow-up technical agreements and business forums beginning this autumn.

"I really hope that, following this memorandum, the Minister (Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Mukhtarudin) will be able to visit Albania so that we can follow up on the memorandum," she remarked.
