Jakarta, July 8 -- Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Sandeep Chakravorty expressed hope the integration of Indonesia's QRIS payment system with India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) would be completed by the end of 2026.

"We hope that those discussions, along with the technology integration, can be completed soon. So, the process is still ongoing, but it is already at a very advanced stage," Chakravorty said in a press conference here on Tuesday evening (July 7).

Technical discussions on the integration are currently underway between payment system operators in Indonesia and its counterparts in India. In addition, the technology integration process has reached a very advanced stage.
