Jakarta, May 13 -- The Directorate General of Immigration has identified the sponsors responsible for bringing 320 foreign nationals suspected of being part of the Hayam Wuruk online gambling syndicate in West Jakarta.

Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko stated on Wednesday that 15 sponsors were identified as the parties responsible for the foreign nationals involved in the gambling ring.

"We have identified 15 guarantors or sponsors responsible for the presence of these foreign nationals in Indonesia," he confirmed in a statement.

His office is currently investigating alleged immigration crimes committed by the 320 foreign nationals through a joint investigation with the National Police.
