Jakarta, April 20 -- Indonesia has been singled out by the International Monetary Fund as a "bright spot" in the global economy, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said, citing strong fundamentals and credible policy management despite mounting global uncertainty.
"The IMF lauded Indonesia as a bright spot in the global economy due to its strong economic fundamentals," Purbaya said in a statement on Monday after meeting IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
During the meeting, Purbaya emphasized Indonesia's solid fiscal position and sufficient budgetary buffers to withstand external shocks, as volatility persists across global markets.
