Jakarta, Aug. 14 -- House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani urged the government Friday to ensure the 2027 state budget prioritizes fair tax collection, prudent debt management, fiscal sustainability, and tangible public benefits across Indonesia's regions.

Speaking at the parliamentary plenary opening in Jakarta, Puan warned against placing unfair financial liabilities on future generations while emphasizing four core pillars of legislative oversight: revenue fairness, spending quality, debt control, and regional transfers.
