Jakarta, Aug. 27 -- Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, which oversees monetary and financial affairs, has approved Destry Damayanti as the new governor of Bank Indonesia for the 2026-2031 term.

Damayanti succeeds Perry Warjiyo, who resigned from his post on July 25. Then, Aida S. Budiman will step into the senior deputy governor role vacated by Damayanti.

The commission also endorsed Solikin M. Juhro as the central bank's deputy governor for the five-year term.

"The replacement process for the governor, senior deputy governor, and deputy governor has been carried out. We have completed our duties at the commission level," the Commission XI Chairman Mukhamad Misbakhun said in Jakarta on Thursday.
