Health ministry sends orthopedic doctors for NTT earthquake injured
Tangerang, Aug. 20 -- Indonesia's Ministry of Health has deployed orthopedic specialists from several regions to treat people injured in a magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province last week.
Deputy Minister of Health Benjamin Paulus Octavianus said in Tangerang on Thursday that the ministry sent orthopedic doctors from Makassar in South Sulawesi and Surabaya in East Java to eight districts affected by the quake.
He said the deployment of orthopedic specialists was aimed at treating injured victims, most of whom suffered broken bones or fractures after being trapped under building debris.
