Haze delays flights at Jambi's Sultan Thaha Airport
Jambi, Oct. 1 -- Haze blanketing Jambi reduced visibility and delayed several arrivals and departures at Sultan Thaha Airport on Thursday, disrupting flight operations at the airport.
Sultan Thaha Airport Executive General Manager Ardon Marbun said PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia recorded visibility of about 1,500 meters at 6 a.m. local time.
At that time, one departure, Batik Air flight ID 6807 to Jakarta, took off successfully using an aircraft that had remained overnight at the airport.
From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., visibility fluctuated between 1,200 and 1,500 meters, briefly falling to 1,000 meters, he said.
