Govt to reallocate part of Danantara SOE profits to State Budget
Jakarta, Aug. 12 -- The government plans to allocate a portion of profits generated by Indonesia's sovereign investment agency Danantara from state-owned enterprise (SOE) dividends back into the State Budget.
The strategic shift, according to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, was initiated by President Prabowo Subianto, to build a government fiscal reserve and accelerate state debt reduction.
"The President's idea is to allocate part of Danantara's profits to government reserves," Purbaya told reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday.
"We are increasing revenue efficiency and want to make our budget more sustainable going forward. We are utilizing all means, including revenue from Danantara," he added.
