Jakarta, Sept. 29 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy is encouraging the use of trend forecasting and intellectual property (IP) protection to boost the market value and global competitiveness of fashion products made from traditional Indonesian textiles.

The ministry's Director of Fashion, Iffah Sa'aidah, underscored that trend forecasting is a key tool for designers to transform traditional textiles, or wastra Nusantara, into ready-to-wear pieces tailored to international market tastes while retaining their cultural identity.
