Jakarta, April 18 -- The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) has removed 4,198,606 pieces of negative content between October 20, 2024, and April 15, 2026.
This extensive enforcement campaign is part of a national effort to shield the public from illegal and harmful online material.
"The removal of 4.1 million content items is not merely a statistic, but concrete proof of the state's presence in safeguarding society from the destructive impact of illegal content," Director General of Digital Space Oversight Alexander Sabar stated in a statement on Saturday.
The ministry's data reveals that online gambling was the primary target of enforcement, dominating the figures with over 3.29 million cases.
