Govt launches national movement to foster child-friendly spaces
Jakarta, July 12 -- The Indonesian government on Sunday rolled out the National Movement for Safe and Comfortable Spaces for Children (RANA) at Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).
The initiative was launched collaboratively by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection.
"Today, we are launching this initiative within educational institutions, specifically those under the Religious Affairs Ministry, namely pesantren and madrasahs," Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno said during the movement's launch at the Al-Hamidiyah Islamic Boarding School in Depok, West Java, on Sunday.
