Jakarta, Aug. 3 -- Indonesia is refining regulations governing the management and trade of rare earth element content limits in mineral commodities for export, the Presidential Staff Office said on Monday.

Head of the Presidential Staff Office Dudung Abdurachman said relevant ministries and agencies reached a shared understanding after a coordination meeting on July 27 on rare earth element content in mineral commodities and its implications for mineral export governance.

"We have reached a shared understanding that the export ban applies to rare earth elements exported as the primary product. It does not automatically apply to rare earth elements occurring as associated elements in primary mining products and their derivatives," Dudung...
