Jakarta, April 20 -- Minister of Culture Fadli Zon emphasized that high-quality scripts are a crucial factor in determining the success of Indonesia's film industry.

"One of the bottlenecks in our film industry is the screenplay and scriptwriting. Great films can only be realized if our scripts are strong," Zon said during the SINEMA 2026 Screenplay Competition Award event on Monday.

He noted that well-crafted scripts can enhance the performance of actors and actresses while strengthening the messages that filmmakers aim to convey to audiences.
