Jakarta, Aug. 19 -- Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry recorded a slight decline in Indonesia's new and renewable energy (NRE) mix, from 18 percent to 17 percent, mainly due to an increased share of gas-fired power generation.

"Today, the new and renewable energy mix is 17 percent. Yesterday, in the first quarter, it was 18 percent," the ministry's Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Eniya Listiani Dewi, said at the 12th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition (IIGCE) 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

"Perhaps there was a small increase in gas-fired power generation, resulting in a slight correction," she added.
