Jakarta, March 2 -- Try Sutrisno, Indonesia's sixth vice president, passed away on Monday at the age of 90 while undergoing treatment at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital (RSPAD) in Jakarta, officials said.
He passed away at around 7:00 a.m., according to a broadcast message circulated on behalf of his family and the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education (BPIP).
The information was later confirmed by officials from the Ministry of State Secretariat and the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).
The statement said the former vice president's body would be prepared for burial at RSPAD before being transported to his residence on Purwakarta Street No. 6 in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
