Jakarta, March 29 -- Professor Juwono Sudarsono, former Indonesian defense minister and ambassador, passed away aged 84 on Saturday and was buried with full honors at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery here on Sunday.

His coffin lay in state at the Defense Ministry office on Sunday morning, with the procession attended by former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, former vice president Jusuf Kalla, and both current and former government officials. The ministry flew the red-and-white flag at half-staff in his honor.

After the procession at the Defense Ministry, his coffin was transported to the heroes' cemetery, arriving at 11 a.m. Jakarta time.
