Indonesia, Sept. 21 -- Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni confirmed the readiness of forest and land fire mitigation measures across national conservation areas.

"Fighting to extinguish fires is important, but equally important is protecting our wildlife, an extraordinary asset that we must safeguard together," Antoni said in a statement on Monday.

Active mitigation is carried out through the Forest and Land Fire Monitoring System (SiPongi), fire monitoring posts, and joint inter-agency teams.

Field operations are supported by slip-on firefighting vehicles alongside weather modification operations (OMC) and helicopter water-bombing missions.
