Yogyakarta, Oct. 8 -- Foreign passengers using trains in PT Kereta Api Indonesia's Yogyakarta operating area rose 7.8 percent to 264,335 in January-September 2026 from 245,229 a year earlier.

"The growth shows strong mobility among foreign tourists using rail transport. Yogyakarta Station is an important gateway to various tourist destinations," KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta Spokesperson Feni Novida Saragih said.

Foreign passengers departing from the Daop 6 area totaled 135,897 during the period, up 6.5 percent from 127,561 a year earlier, she said here on Wednesday.

Foreign arrivals totaled 128,438, a 9.1 percent increase from 117,668 in the same period last year.
