Jakarta, May 5 -- Flooding submerged 115 neighborhood units across West, East and South Jakarta, with water levels ranging from 15 cm to 2.4 meters, the Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted on Tuesday.
The flooding was triggered by heavy rainfall that caused several rivers to overflow, including Krukut, Grogol Mampang, Angke, Pesanggrahan, Keuangan, Mampang, and Ciliwung rivers, BPBD Jakarta Chief Marulitua Sijabat said.
As of Tuesday morning, floodwaters were still inundating 115 neighborhood units and four road sections across the affected areas, according to the latest data released by the agency.
