Jakarta, April 1 -- The Red and White Fishermen's Village (KNMP) pilot project in Papua is said to have shown a twofold increase in productivity and income for fishermen.
Presidential Chief of Staff Muhammad Qodari on Wednesday explained that the progress of KNMP construction for Phase 1, started in September 2025, has reached 99.23 percent, or 61 of the targeted 65 locations.
Meanwhile, the progress of Phase 2, launched in December 2025, has achieved 16.68 percent progress.
"At the Samber Binyeri modeling location in Biak Papua, the KNMP has brought a productivity increase from 5.35 tons to 10.85 tons per year per fisherman, a 101 percent increase. Days at sea have increased from 9 days to 13 days, a 44 percent increase," he stated in...
