Jakarta, May 27 -- House of Representatives (DPR RI) Speaker Puan Maharani has invited all Indonesian people to make the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri momentum to weave togetherness and social care.

She said that Eid al-Adha, which is identical to the qurban or sacrificial meat and Hajj pilgrimage, is considered the right moment to strengthen social values.

"Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice teaches us about sincerity and sacrifice," Maharani said in a statement here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Maharani performed the Eid al-Adha prayer at the Baiturrahman Mosque located in the parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, along with DPR employees and local residents.
