Medan, North Sumatra, Oct. 18 -- Deputy Defense Minister Gen. Richard Tampubolon has emphasized the need to accelerate post-disaster recovery so affected areas can return to normal as quickly as possible through targeted, measured, and sustainable efforts.

"Accelerating post-disaster recovery is a shared priority to restore normal conditions," Tampubolon said during a working visit to North Tapanuli District, North Sumatra, on Sunday.

He said strong coordination was essential, as several areas could remain vulnerable to further disasters that might hamper recovery efforts, including the reconstruction of bridges and other public facilities.
