Jakarta, Oct. 2 -- Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund Danantara will discuss with Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi on Friday a proposal to import used train sets from Japan for electric commuter rail services.

"I am scheduled to meet with the transportation minister today. We should discuss the matter with the minister," Danantara Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria said in Jakarta.

Oskaria declined to say whether Danantara would support state railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia's proposal, saying any decision should follow a thorough assessment.

"We must look at the costs and benefits and assess what value the initiative would generate for us," Oskaria said, adding that he would first discuss it with Purwagandhi.
