Jakarta, June 8 -- Danantara Indonesia mulls business expansion to aircraft leasing following purchase plan of new Boeing passenger jets for flag carrier Garuda Indonesia.

"We are considering the possibility of Danantara opening its own aircraft leasing company," Dony Oskaria, Danantara's Chief Operating Officer (COO) and State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN)'s Head, said at the Senayan parliament building here on Monday.

Garuda Indonesia will acquire 50 new Boeing jets, as obligated by the trade deal with the United States earlier this year, Oskaria added.

"There are many considerations. Nonetheless, we need to carry out our commitment," he noted.
