Jakarta, Oct. 23 -- Culture Minister Fadli Zon said the 2026 Jakarta Film Week (JFW) was able to serve as a platform to open up networks for Indonesian filmmakers.

"Through this opportunity, the network of Indonesian filmmakers is growing wider with the many filmmakers who attended," Zon said in a press statement here on Friday.

He also cited the presence of Sammo Hung, a legendary senior Hong Kong actor famous for kung fu films, who is expected to serve as an example for building networks in the film world.

The Culture Ministry, he continued, supports the event, now in its sixth year, as a step to keep building Indonesia's film ecosystem.
