Kuningan, W Java, Oct. 25 -- A joint team battling forest and land fires is focusing on cooling operations in three blocks of Mount Ciremai National Park in West Java's Kuningan District after no active hotspots were detected on Saturday.

Kuningan District Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Head Indra Bayu said crews were targeting residual heat because thin smoke was still visible in several locations.

"The situation is under control. We will continue thorough cooling operations until the smoke disappears," Indra said in a statement on Saturday.

The three priority areas for cooling and mop-up operations are Bintangot, Karang Dinding, and Bukit Seribu Bintang, all within the park in Kuningan District.
