Cooperatives can drive skilled worker exports: Deputy minister
Jakarta, Aug. 6 -- Deputy Cooperatives Minister Farida Farichah underscored Indonesian cooperatives' potential to produce skilled professional workers qualified for overseas employment as their businesses expand beyond savings, loan, and trade activities.
She delivered the remarks while sending off 86 Indonesian migrant workers bound for Japan under Kita Miraino Hikari Cooperative's program at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Wednesday (Aug. 5).
"The Kita Miraino Hikari Cooperative has shown that young people are capable of managing cooperatives with digital technology and deploy workers abroad," Farichah noted in a statement cited here on Thursday.
