Semarang, Sept. 16 -- Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi said Dubai-based investors plan to invest Rp5 trillion (US$283 million) in a mini-refinery project to process oil in Jepara District, Central Java.

"They (Dubai investors) are interested in investing in a mini-refinery in the Jepara area," Luthfi said in a statement in Semarang, Central Java, on Wednesday.

According to the Governor, the investment is set to be realized by the end of 2026, following the signing of a cooperation agreement.

Based on the presentation given by the prospective investors, he explained that the planned mini-refinery would be capable of processing crude oil.
