Bulog posts Rp2.6 trillion profit as rice aid expands
Jakarta, Oct. 9 -- Indonesia's State Logistics Agency (Bulog) posted a Rp2.6 trillion (about US$145 million) profit through September 26, driven in part by rice distribution and government food assistance.
"Bulog is now profit-oriented," President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said here Thursday, adding that the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) had reviewed the figure.
He said earnings were driven partly by rice distribution under the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program and government food assistance.
Food aid reaches about 33.2 million beneficiaries each month, he said.
The program forms part of the government's 2026 stimulus policy, which provides food assistance for eight months.
