BRIN proposes virtual power plant for Nusantara's 2045 NZE goal
Jakarta, July 29 -- The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) proposed adopting the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) approach to power generation in Nusantara (IKN), Indonesia's future capital in East Kalimantan, to achieve the 2045 net-zero emission (NZE) target.
Researcher at the BRIN Electrical Technology Research Center Abdul Wachid Syamroni argued that developing a VPP is especially important for Nusantara because its NZE target precedes the national deadline of 2060.
Speaking during a discussion in Jakarta on Wednesday, he explained that a VPP functions as a system that aggregates clean energy generated and distributed across clusters in IKN.
