Jakarta, Aug. 16 -- The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is developing artificial graphite from coal waste for battery raw materials in an effort to support the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in Indonesia.

"In the upstream sector of advanced materials, BRIN is developing a 5V-generation lithium-ion battery and producing artificial graphite from coal waste," BRIN Head Arif Satria said on Sunday.

He explained that the artificial graphite being developed has a structural conformity rate of 96.8 percent.
