Jakarta, Oct. 21 -- Indonesia's National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) prepared to reactivate artificial rain consoles to support weather modification operations in tackling forest and land fires in Indonesia.

The step began with an equipment condition check by the Air Force's Maintenance Depot 10 (Depohar 10) team at the B.J. Habibie Science and Technology Area in Serpong, South Tangerang, on Tuesday (Oct 20).

"This check is an important stage to know the condition of the artificial rain consoles before repairs are made," BRIN's Manager of National Vital Objects and Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Agus Basuki said in a statement here on Wednesday.
