Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- Head of Halal Certification Agency (BPJPH), Ahmad Haikal Hasan, has encouraged business owners to secure halal certification, noting that it adds business value while boosting the competitiveness of Indonesia's top tourist destinations.

"In global tourism, the availability of halal products is key to offering inclusive services for travelers with diverse backgrounds and needs," Hasan said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He pointed to popular Indonesian destinations like Bali, where ongoing guidance and oversight encourage businesses offering halal products to apply for and secure official halal certification.
