Jakarta, Aug. 21 -- The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) received tens of tons of relief supplies from the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) and the Jakarta provincial government to aid quake-hit communities in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Acting Head of BNPB's Center for Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Berton Panjaitan described the aid mobilization as a testament to strong synergy between the central government and other institutions in meeting basic needs following the magnitude 7.7 earthquake.

In a statement cited on Friday, Panjaitan noted that TNI AU Chief of Staff Marshal Tonny Harjono symbolically handed over supplies weighing 34.38 tons to BNPB Deputy for Logistics and Equipment Andi Eviana.
