BNPB confirms wildfire spots in Jambi continue to decrease
Jambi, Sept. 2 -- Head of Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Suharyanto said the handling on forest and land fires or wildfires by the task force in Jambi has been fairly good, evidenced by a continuing decline in fire spots.
"Today, the burned land area in Jambi continues to decrease or has been extinguished, in line with the work of the Forest and Land Fire Handling Task Force, which recorded a burned area of 13 hectares as of Tuesday (Sept. 1)," Suharyanto said here on Wednesday.
BNPB stated it cannot yet confirm whether the eight hectares currently being extinguished would expand, as patrols were scheduled for today to monitor new fire spots.
