Jakarta, Sept. 1 -- Incoming Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Destry Damayanti, affirmed that maintaining economic stability remains the primary focus of the central bank amid continuing global market uncertainty.

Speaking at the House of Representatives (DPR) building in Jakarta on Tuesday, Destry emphasized that maintaining the stability of the rupiah exchange rate and domestic inflation will lay the groundwork for sustainable, higher national economic growth.

"Our stance remains unchanged: stability is the priority. Given the ongoing high level of global uncertainty, maintaining stability remains key for us," Destry said.
