Surabaya, East Java, Sept. 26 -- Bank Indonesia (BI) is strengthening Indonesia's halal value chain from production to distribution, aiming to boost the competitiveness of domestic halal products and expand their reach into global markets.

BI Governor Destry Damayanti noted that the move is a core direction of the central bank's Islamic economic and financial policy, designed to turn the country's vast potential into tangible economic impact.

"We are strengthening an integrated and competitive halal value chain ecosystem, from supply and demand to supporting institutions," she said at the opening of the 2026 Java Sharia Economic Festival (Fesyar) in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday.
