Jakarta, April 28 -- The death toll from Monday evening's train collision at Bekasi Timur Station has risen to 14, with 84 others currently receiving medical treatment at various facilities, state rail operator KAI reported Tuesday.

The deceased have been transported to Kramat Jati Police Hospital for identification.

Meanwhile, the injured are undergoing treatment at Bekasi Regional Public Hospital, Primaya Hospital, and Bakti Kartini Hospital.

"As of 8:45 a.m., 14 people are confirmed dead and 84 are injured. Response efforts are ongoing," KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said in a statement issued Tuesday.
