Jakarta, Aug. 20 -- The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has intensified medical evacuation efforts for vulnerable groups, including elderly people and pregnant women, in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) following the magnitude-7.7 earthquake that struck the region several days ago.

Basarnas Operations Director Yudhi Bramantyo said in a statement on Thursday that, based on the SAR team's assessment as of Thursday afternoon, two disaster survivors had been evacuated because they required specialized medical care.
