Jakarta, April 16 -- The Indonesian National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has located the debris suspected to be part of an Airbus H130 PK-CFX helicopter that reportedly lost contact and crashed in a forest area in Sekadau District, West Kalimantan, on Thursday.
Basarnas Deputy for Operations and Preparedness, Edy Prakoso, said that the debris, suspected to be part of the aircraft's tail, was observed from the air by a joint SAR team using an Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter.
"Aerial surveillance has identified the helicopter's location. At 3:25 p.m., the debris suspected to be the tail of the PK-CFX helicopter was found approximately three kilometers west of the initial point of contact loss," Prakoso explained.
